80 Minute Game help Make-A-Wish Australia make one young fan’s dream come true
80 Minute Game help Make-A-Wish Australia make one young fan’s dream come true.
Lachlan is a 13 year old boy living in Australia who is huge Wallabies fan. His cherished wish is to go to the Rugby World Cup in NZ in October 2011. Thanks to the Make-A-Wish Australia foundation and 80 Minute Game Ltd that wish will come true.
Lachlan suffers from Severe Aplastic Anaemia (BMT). He first became ill in South Africa, where he received a bone marrow transplant from his younger brother, Jonathon. Lachlan’s mum and step-dad lost their jobs at one point during Lachlan’s illness due to having to care for him.
When 80 Minute Game Directors Sue and Paul Robinson were told of Lachlan’s wish, they were delighted to be able to assist by arranging a beautiful home for the family to stay in. Home owners Peter and Bridget kindly made their home available to the family through 80 Minute Game.
Lachie’s wish was presented to his family at a charity golf day organised by Greg Ogle in Sydney. Rob Horne from the Australian Wallabies and Waratah Rugby teams was there to present it to him, along with the Wallabies scarf and hat he received. The family are now even more excited about their trip to New Zealand in September. When asked who he would be barracking for at the World Cup he replied “Australia, of course! But my little sister might be going for South Africa”.
The team at 80 Minute Game Ltd in New Zealand would like to acknowledge the help of home owners Peter and Bridget in providing the family with a house during their stay, and wish Lachlan and his family a wonderful trip to New Zealand in September this year.
